Geisinger Health System, Geisinger Medical Center, is searching for an GMC Trauma Manager for their Adult Level 1 Program, located in Danville PA. This is a rural trauma program, serving as a referral center for over 35 hospitals in the area with 47000 ED visits annually. The Adult Level 1 Trauma Program and the Pediatric Level 2 Trauma Program work cooperatively to provide care for over 2400 trauma patients annually, 50% of which are transferred from other institutions. This position would be responsible for the members of the adult trauma program staff include 2 PI coordinators, 1 injury prevention specialist, 2 Trauma Case managers, 1 data specialist, 2 administrative assistants, 8 Trauma surgeons. The trauma registry includes 5 trained trauma registrars that abstract for both the adult and pediatric trauma program.  

The Trauma program is part of the Geisinger Surgical Institute, comprised of 9 surgical departments including: General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Urology, ENT, Dentistry/OMFS, Vascular, Transplant, Ophthalmology, and Plastic Surgery.  Trauma falls under the general surgery department within the institute but has a presence at four of the major platforms within the Geisinger system – GMC, GWV, G-CMC, and Holy Spirit.  

This position requires a Registered Nurse license and bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field; a Master’s degree in a business-related field (MBA, MHA, MPH) or equivalent is preferred. A minimum of three years management experience in healthcare including physician relations experience is also required. Trauma Program experience is preferred.
